Mountain Goat Beer is an independant micro-brewery operating out of Melbourne.
They produce several high quality beers for above-average prices. Previously, their labelling involved bright colours and striking elements, which would have been more at home on an energy drink, not a beer. For a higher priced beverage, some measure of sophistication is needed and this was not being reflected in the packaging. The aim with this project was to bring the fine tasting quality of the beers into the packaging.
The client was also concerned with the carbon footprint of their company, as breweries are major water consumers. For this reason a recycled stock was put forward.
This project was a open-invitation re-design undertaken as part of a the Bachelor of Design program at QCA in 2008.
